Barcelona and Liverpool Target Micky van de Ven

La Liga champions Barcelona have identified Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven as a potential summer signing.

The Catalan club are keen to bolster their backline for the upcoming season of 2026/27 and the Dutch international is now in their target list.

Dutch football expert Mike Verweij says that Barcelona and Liverpool are both interested in the 24-year-old Netherlands international.

FC Barcelona and Liverpool are knocking on the door for Netherlands international Micky van de Ven,’ the report claims.

Barcelona are believed to be very interested in making a move for van de Ven, who is currently in a standoff with Tottenham in north London.

Since his arrival from Wolfsburg in 2023, the centre-back has been an impressive performer in terms of his athleticism, ball-playing and defensive solidity. His performances have made him a key figure for both club and country.

Barcelona’s management, headed by sporting director Deco, are looking at a range of defensive options, from cheap to premium, and Micky van de Ven is an appealing profile for them in the long term.

There has been no official bid so far, but it is believed the interest from the Camp Nou is genuine, as they seek to strengthen their team in the new coaching regime.
