Elche Complete Permanent Signing of Víctor Chust from Cádiz
Víctor Chust to Elche permanent transfer is complete.
Elche have signed Cádiz defender Víctor Chust on a permanent basis.

The 26-year-old centre-back joined on loan at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero for the 2025/26 season and made an impact early on in the season.
Chust played 31 times in La Liga this season, netting one goal as Elche managed to avoid relegation and stay in the top tier of Spain’s league.

After his good results, Elche have now exercised the right to buy Chust, making him a permanent member of their squad.
Elche has confirmed in an official statement on their website and social media:
Elche CF has made the purchase of the player with Cádiz CF, with the agreement to integrate him in the club until June 2029.
The agreement represents another major move in Elche’s quest to bolster their defensive line for the 2026/27 season of La Liga.
Chust was a youngster who was picked up by Cádiz’s academy and progressed through their youth ranks, and has now signed his next contract with Elche, which will run until the summer of 2029.

Player Background
Víctor Chust García was born in Valencia on 5 March 2000 and developed as a young defender in the youth systems of Valencia and Real Madrid. He progressed through the ranks at Real Madrid, turning out for Real Madrid Castilla, the club’s B team, and making a handful of first-team appearances before seeking regular senior football elsewhere.
In 2021, Chust joined Cádiz, initially on loan from Real Madrid, before making the move permanent in 2022. It proved to be the making of him. Over the following seasons he became a mainstay of the Cádiz defence, racking up more than 100 appearances for the club across his loan and permanent spells and scoring four league goals, an impressive return for a centre-back.
The 26-year-old, who stands at 1.84m, is a composed, ball-playing defender, comfortable with both feet and strong in his reading of the game. His talent was recognised early at international level too: he represented Spain from under-17 to under-21 level, winning the European Under-19 Championship in 2019 and the European Under-17 Championship in 2017, as well as finishing as runner-up at the Under-17 World Cup in 2017.
At Cádiz, Chust grew into a defender trusted in high-pressure situations. He experienced both promotion pushes and relegation scraps with the Andalusian club, and that exposure to must-win football at the wrong end of the table proved invaluable. By the time Elche came calling, he was no longer a prospect but a proven La Liga centre-back with more than a century of senior appearances behind him.
Víctor Chust to Elche permanent transfer: Why This Move Matters
Elche’s decision to make the deal permanent is a reward for an excellent loan season. Chust joined the club for the 2025/26 campaign and immediately established himself, making 31 La Liga appearances and scoring one goal as Elche successfully avoided relegation and secured their top-flight status.
For a newly established top-flight side, keeping the core of a successful squad together is often just as important as new signings. Chust was one of Elche’s most consistent performers during the survival fight, and turning his loan into a permanent transfer until June 2029 gives the club valuable stability at the heart of defence.
The length of the contract is significant. Tying a 26-year-old centre-back down for three more years means Elche have secured a defender entering his prime, with more than 100 appearances in Spanish football already behind him. It also sends a message about the club’s ambition: rather than scrambling for replacements each summer, they are building around players who have already proven they can deliver in La Liga.
From Chust’s perspective, the move offers exactly what he wanted when he left Cádiz: a club where he is a guaranteed starter, in the top flight, with a long-term project to buy into. After years of loans and short-term deals, the security of a contract running to 2029 allows him to focus fully on his football.
What Happens Next
Chust will head into the 2026/27 season as one of the first names on the Elche teamsheet. Having played virtually every week during the loan spell, he already knows the club, the system and his defensive partners, which should make for a smooth transition into the new campaign.
The challenge now will be to build on last season’s survival. Elche will want to move away from relegation battles and establish themselves as a comfortable mid-table La Liga side, and a settled, reliable centre-back pairing will be central to that aim. Chust’s experience, leadership and familiarity with the league make him a natural cornerstone of those plans.
There may also be bigger stages ahead for the defender. Still only 26 and with a strong youth international pedigree, consistent performances in La Liga could yet put him back in the conversation for higher honours. For now, though, both player and club will be focused on the same short-term goal: making Elche’s place in the top flight a permanent one, just like Chust’s own future at the Martínez Valero.
He also offers a genuine threat from set pieces. Four league goals during his time at Cádiz is a healthy return for a centre-back, and his goal for Elche last season showed he can make a difference at both ends of the pitch. In tight matches, where survival is often decided by fine margins, that extra dimension could prove valuable again.
